I'm Helene Krothe (She/They), a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). I provide systemic and trauma growth oriented therapy. My private practice office is located within the South Eugene Wellness Center, a safe and confidential environment that centers the health of the whole person to grow, ground, and implement helpful changes in their lives. I see my role as a therapist is to walk alongside you collaboratively while you build on your internal gifts, attempt to listen to the fears that can inhibit courage, and bring forth the solutions from within. Through a humanistic, anti-oppression, anti-racist framework, I support teens and adults with identity dynamics, gender affirmation, and the processes of healing from traumatic experiences. I encourage individuals to access empowerment and change through personal, familial, community, and system participation.
I believe that therapy cannot be helpful unless a person is and feels respected and understood in their phase of life, developmental needs, cultures, resiliency and risks, ability to access community resources, privileges, and traumas. I take a relational approach to therapy, since relationships are a significant factor in the quality of one's life. I utilize the adaptive wisdom of emotions and body awareness to improve the quality of a person’s relationships with themselves and others. I work to support safety within my role so as client's cultural self-identities (spiritual, sexual, gender, ability, ethnic, romantic, heritage, community memberships and beyond) are honored and understood.
I integrate the following models and frameworks:
